What guitar does Manuel play?
In concert he plays his 1995 Matthias Dammann guitar, but all of his recordings have been made with his 1972 Robert Ruck.
How can I take lessons with Manuel?
Manuel teaches a limited number of students at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD. He does not give any private lessons, but he teaches a masterclass in Baltimore in June of each year (see more information on this website).
How do I go about applying to his studio at Peabody?
You have to apply to the school and audition. Auditions are held in February and May. For more information on the process, you should contact Peabody.
How many lessons does Manuel give each semester to his students at Peabody?
He gives them a minimum of 8 lessons per semester; more often, they end up being 9 per semester. Students take the remaining lessons from his assistant.
I am a composer and would like to know if I can send Manuel my music? Will he be able to look at it?

I heard some of Manuel's arrangements but don't see them listed under his publications on the website; where can I find them?
Not all of Manuel's arrangements are published for one reason or another. The only ones that are available are the ones that we have listed.

Where can I get the pieces by Carlos Fariñas Manuel recorded on his ¡Cuba! CD?
They are available both from Gendai Guitar (http://www.gendaiguitar.com/) and from Casa Luthier (http://www.casaluthier.com/) in Spain.
Will Manuel publish his Copeland and Nazareth arrangements from Nylon & Steel?
There are no plans to do that because of copyright issues.
